Ecology Projects

Each child is working on a project independently or in a group to show their understanding of what we heave learnt while learning about ecosystems. 



Here are some photos of children working on their projects:

Abi-Rose is making her costume for a play - she plays a cow.

 Cindy is helping Sarah to create a Kea beak for the play.

 Jemima and Lydia are working on their diagrams of different ecosystems.

 Rylie is painting her diorama of an ecosystem.

 Anna and Hamilton are making costumes for the trees in the play.

 Lulu is painting an ecosystem.

 Amy is writing questions for her ecology board game.

 Eres, well, Eres is a tractor.  Actually Eres is a farmer in a play about pests in New Zealand.

 Keito is painting the tractor for the play.

Finally the play group get to practice on the stage.



On 18 May the play group were able to perform their play to the senior school. Well done Leah and Nathan for your script writing and directing skills. The group performed in a very professional manner.

Nathan, Jonty and Leah have reflected on their play and what they have learnt during the ecology topic using a Voki on the reflections page.




Zak and Vedang found out about eagles and their habitats.  Their created a paper mache eagle and completed an information report about eagles.

Cindy created a pamphlet about what she learnt during the ecology topic.


Rylie and Alison created a diorama about a kiwi in its natural habitat including predators.


Thomas and Rory have created a Scratch project sharing what they learnt about pests in NZ.


Lulu and Kate created paintings about an ecosystem.


Anna, Keito, Emily, Codie, Sarah, Eileen and Amy all created board games.
